Dungeon Breaks
How dungeon bosses can break out into the world, how to qualify for the reward box, and what the box can contain.
Overview
Dungeon Breaks are a custom world event tied to normal dungeon main bosses.
When a supported dungeon boss stays alive for long enough, that boss can break out of the dungeon and appear in the open world. The escaped boss travels along a fixed route. During the walk it can be attacked, but it does not fight back until it reaches its destination.
When the boss reaches the end of its route, Ashens arrive to engage it and the boss becomes fully active again. Players who helped fight the escaped boss can earn a Dungeon Break Reward Box.
Supported Dungeons
Dungeon Breaks can occur in:
| Dungeon | Main boss | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Moonlight 1 | Abhuva | Horizon |
| Moonlight 2 | Abhuva | Horizon |
| Lost Mines 1 | Taranida | Rondo |
| Lost Mines 2 | Taranida | Rondo |
| Crystal Valley 1 | Likirus | Katan |
| Crystal Valley 2 | Likirus | Katan |
| Palmir Plateau 1 | Takin | Laksy |
| Palmir Plateau 2 | Takin | Laksy |
| Sanctuary | Aurumis | City of Ruins |
Break Chance
The server watches the main boss of each supported dungeon.
Current trigger settings:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum boss alive time | 30 minutes |
| Roll interval after minimum time | 5 minutes |
| Base break chance per roll | 0.615% |
| Idle bonus condition | No player/summon damage for 15 minutes |
| Idle bonus chance | +0.15% |
| Maximum alive time | 4 hours |
If the maximum alive time is reached, the break is forced.
Across the supported dungeon list, the system is tuned around roughly one Dungeon Break every 1.5 hours when enough watched bosses are alive.
Event Flow
When a Dungeon Break starts:
- The original dungeon boss is removed from its dungeon position.
- A separate event version of the boss appears in the world.
- A red server notice announces the break.
- The event boss walks toward its destination.
- The boss does not attack while traveling.
- When it reaches the destination, another red notice is sent.
- Ashens appear and begin fighting the boss.
- The boss becomes fully combat-active.
The event boss is separate from normal dungeon boss reward handling. Killing it does not give normal boss loot, EXP, JP, quest kill progress, or other regular monster-kill rewards.
Reward Eligibility
Players must help fight the escaped boss to qualify.
You are eligible if you are a real player and meet at least one of these conditions:
| Requirement | Value |
|---|---|
| Damage contribution | At least 0.1% of boss maximum HP |
| Successful damaging hits | At least 3 |
Summon damage counts for the summon owner.
Ashens do not count as real players and do not receive reward boxes.
Only one character per client cohort can receive the reward. If multiple eligible characters from the same cohort participate, the character with the highest contribution damage wins. If damage is tied, successful hits are used. If that is still tied, the server uses a deterministic tie-breaker.
Reward Delivery
Eligible players receive one Dungeon Break Reward Box directly in their inventory when the event boss dies.
The reward is not dropped on the ground and cannot be looted by another player.
The box is:
- Not tradeable
- Not storageable
- Not sellable
- Not donateable
- Not droppable
Reward Box Contents
Opening a Dungeon Break Reward Box rolls several reward sections independently. More than one section can succeed from the same box.
| Reward section | Chance | Count |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient Strike item | 50% | 1-5 |
| Ancient Defense item | 50% | 1-5 |
| Creature-card pool | 25% | 1 |
| Utility item | 50% | 1-3 |
Player Advice
- If you see a red Dungeon Break notice, head toward the event boss quickly.
- Hit the boss yourself or with your summon to build contribution.
- Low-level characters can still qualify through successful hits, even if their damage is small.
- Do not rely on Ashens for reward eligibility. They help fight, but they do not count as players.
